Animal Imposter
Scene where one character is an animal trying to pass as human.
In this variation on Animal Characteristics, one player is an animal who has put on a costume to appear human, perhaps disguised as someone the other characters know.
Try it with two characters – perhaps a couple on a date – one of whom is the imposter. A more ambitious version sees the imposter interact with many characters in a party or social gathering.
Other players are fully human, and alert to odd behaviours. The animal character sometimes crosses the line. If this happens, the human characters should question the imposter’s actions, and the animal character must then justify their behaviour.
Don’t be too original with your animal choices. It’s better if audience and players are familiar with the animal’s normal behaviour. You’ll have more fun with kitten or dog than capybara.
The human characters can introduce actions that inadvertently pose problems for the animal. If the imposter is a dog, leave food on the table, do some vacuuming, throw away a stick, tell your guests to “sit”…
